Yellowjackets Season 3 is off to a buzzy start.

The premiere episode generated 2.03M viewers across its debut weekend on Paramount+ with Showtime, per Paramount Global.

This includes the three-day streaming audience that tuned in once the episode became available on Friday, as well as any same-day viewers that watched when the episode aired on the linear network Sunday night.

Paramount Global also says that this is the most-streamed episode in series history, outperforming the Season 2 premiere by 58%. The company didn’t provide streaming-specific numbers.

Nearly 2M viewers tuned in for the Season 2 premiere last March, though direct comparisons are difficult to make since Paramount Global did not provide a specific number at that time. There were no numbers available for the Season 1 premiere, but the Season 1 finale drew 1.3M viewers.

Overall, it’s clear the series has been growing its audience pretty steadily, which bodes well for the remaining eight episodes.

Yellowjackets Season 3 picks up directly in the aftermath of the Season 2 finale. Per the logline: “As summer arrives, the Yellowjackets face a fragile victory—the brutal winter that nearly claimed them is finally behind them, but distrust in leadership and tension within the team jeopardize their chances of being rescued. In the present, long-buried secrets from their pasts begin to surface. As the women fight to keep their lives from unraveling, they must confront a chilling question: who are they really, and what dark truths are they hiding from each other and themselves?”

Episodes debut on Friday on streaming before airing on the linear network Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Yellowjackets is created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson. Lyle, Nickerson and fellow showrunner Jonathan Lisco serve as executive producers. Drew Comins of Creative Engine also serves as executive producer along with Jeff W. Byrd, Sarah L. Thompson, Ameni Rozsa and Brad Van Arragon. The series is produced for Showtime by Lionsgate Television.
