Windsor police arrest two 14-year-olds for armed robbery, kidnapping

Windsor police have arrested a pair of 14-year-old boys who allegedly kidnapped two individuals at gunpoint while driving around in a stolen vehicle.

Officers responded to a report of an armed individual in the 3000 block of Dougall Avenue shortly after 11 p.m. on Dec. 3.
After an investigation, officers learned that two young suspects were driving a stolen vehicle when they picked up their first victim, held a firearm to their head, and issued threats.

Police said the suspects then drove to the location of the second victim, where they used bear mace to intimidate them and demanded they enter the vehicle.
Once inside, police said one of the victims was physically assaulted. Their shoes were also stolen by the suspects.
Police said the suspects released the victims shortly afterwards. One victim sustained a minor injury during the incident.
A day later, police arrested both suspects who now face multiple charges. The identities of both teens are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The first suspect has been charged with robbery with an offensive weapon, kidnapping, forcible confinement, pointing a firearm, possession of a firearm while prohibited, and possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm while knowingly not holding a license and registration certificate.
Additional charges include assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause bodily harm, wearing a disguise to commit an offence, possession of property obtained by crime exceeding $5,000, and breach of probation.
The second suspect faces charges of kidnapping, robbery with an offensive weapon, forcible confinement, assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause bodily harm, wearing a disguise to commit an offence, possession of property obtained by crime exceeding $5,000, and breach of probation.
