South Korean president avoids impeachment vote as tens of thousands join protest

South Korea’s President Yoon Suk Yeol’s survived an impeachment vote on Saturday after lawmakers from his party refused to cast ballots, as tens of thousands of people joined protests outside the parliament building. Calls for Yoon’s ousting have intensified since he briefly imposed martial law on Tuesday.
