Paddleboard guide jailed for 10 years over deaths of four people
A former police firearms officer who ran a paddleboarding company has been jailed for more than 10 years after four people drowned during a journey she oversaw on a swollen southwest Wales river.
Nerys Lloyd ignored safety concerns, saying other routes would be “boring” and failed to alert the poorly-equipped stand-up paddleboarders about an “extremely hazardous” weir and flood warnings.
