MATCH CENTRE: Roosters vs Broncos teams, scores, videos, updates
Trent Robinson has unleashed a new-look backline which features debutant Robert Toia and one-game rugby recruit Mark Nawaqawitanase in the centres, with James Tedesco once again at the back.
Chad Townsend makes his club debut in the halves, while Sandon Smith has been named alongside him.
Salesi Foketi also makes his NRL debut off the pine, with the 20-year-old being joined by fellow young gun Blake Steep.
For the Broncos Cory Paix has won the hooker spot, shifting Billy Walters back to the utility role in Michael Maguire’s first team announcement as Broncos coach.
Gehamat Shibasaki partners Deine Mariner in the centres, with Kotoni Staggs out of the side due to a quad injury.
Kobe Hetherington, as suggested in pre-season, starts at lock with Pat Carrigan named at prop.
Brendan Piakura, meanwhile, has shifted to the bench with Jack Gosiewski named as the starting back rower alongside Jordan Riki.
