The incident occurred overnight between Thursday, December 5 and Friday, December 6 at the village green in Little Milton.

It has been a tradition over the years for one of the village’s locals to put the Father Christmas out to spread some festive cheer and this year the Santa was positioned on a bench.

The figure was stolen by a passing car which was caught on CCTV.

A resident said: “For years a village resident has put a full sized Santa on the village green in Little Milton in poses and displays that change each week leading up to Christmas.

“This was until last night when he [Santa] was stolen by a passing car caught on CCTV.

“Was a miserable Scrooge driving by? We would love him back.”

Thames Valley Police has been approached for comment.
