On the afternoon of Sept. 30, police were told that a man walking at the intersection of Albert Street and 1st Avenue had been struck by a vehicle.

The man was seriously injured and taken to hospital, where he died two days later.

Police say the driver “remained at the scene and cooperated with police” as they investigated.

Now that the investigation is over, the driver’s first court appearance is scheduled for January 2025.
